Taylor Swift has been at the center of Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) rumors after reportedly meeting with Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige. While there has been no official confirmation, speculation is high that Swift may take on the role of Dazzler, a character beloved by fans for her musical background.
Insider Daniel Richtman reported that Swift had a “productive discussion” with Feige about a potential role in the MCU. Swift, who is currently on her European Eras Tour, has been linked to superhero films before, especially the upcoming ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ saga. However, it’s the idea of her playing Dazzler that excites fans the most.
Dazzler, also known as Alison Blaire, is a mutant with the ability to convert sound into light and energy beams. Her musical talents and performance skills make her a perfect fit for Swift, who has experience in both music and film.
The rumors gained traction after fans noticed that the setting for the ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ trailer resembled locations from Swift’s ‘All Too Well’ music video. This speculation was further fueled when Swift was seen with director Shawn Levy and stars Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman at a Kansas City Chiefs game, where her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, was playing.
In February, Marvel’s official Facebook page teased fans with a glimpse of the highly-anticipated movie, hinting at a connection to the X-Men universe. The post featured friendship bracelets, which fans speculated might be a nod to Swift’s Eras Tour, known for its friendship bracelet exchanges.
Despite the excitement, director Shawn Levy has remained tight-lipped about Swift’s involvement. When asked, he said, ‘He was going across the board. ‘No comment’ because that’s a double whammy. That’s Taylor-related. And it’s MCU-related. i’m no dummy. You’re going to have to wait and see.’
Many fans and film critics are convinced that Taylor Swift will be part of the movie, but whether she will play Dazzler or a different role, possibly even herself, remains a mystery. The anticipation continues to build as Swifties and Marvel fans alike eagerly await official news.
