Pregnant Hailey Bieber Reveals how depressed She’s for Not being “Super Close” With Her Family at This Point in Life after the tragic experience from the people she.. See more
As Hailey Bieber and Justin Bieber await the arrival of their first baby, the Rhode founder detailed her relationship to the Baldwins.
Hailey Bieber is Justin Bieber’s forever one less lonely girl.
And that means that the Rhode Beauty founder—who announced she was pregnant with her and the “Sorry” singer’s first baby in May—is turning her focus to her growing family and is the Baldwin name behind her.
“I’m not super close with my family at this point in my life because I feel like I’m very independent,” Hailey explained to W magazine in an interview published July 23. “I’m my own individual now, and I’ve built my own family. But when I look back on my childhood and how I grew up, I have very fond, beautiful memories.”
And while the 27-year-old—the younger of Stephen Baldwin and Kennya Baldwin’s two daughters—acknowledged the privilege that comes with growing up in a famous family, these days she’s putting all her energy into her and Justin’s life together.
“People have made me feel so bad about my relationship since day one,” Hailey explained, mimicking what she’s read online. “‘Oh, they’re falling apart.’ ‘They hate each other.’ ‘They’re getting divorced.’ It’s like people don’t want to believe that we’re happy.”
Hailey admitted that throughout her nearly six-year marriage with Justin—the pair tied the knot in September 2018—the hate they receive doesn’t “hurt any less.” Still, she noted that her love for the 30-year-old remains so strong, it nearly got in the way of the couple having children at all.
“In the beginning, it was super emotional for me,” Hailey said of her pregnancy. “Like, ‘I love this human so much. How can I possibly bring someone else into this?’ I’m trying to soak in these days of it being Justin and me, just the two of us.”
But that’s not to say Hailey wasn’t ready to have a baby, baby, baby—more so that she knows it won’t be easy.
“I want kids so bad but I get scared,” Hailey admitted to the Sunday Times last year. “It’s enough that people say things about my husband or my friends. I can’t imagine having to confront people saying things about a child.”
Ultimately, Hailey and Justin will certainly be able to provide her one qualification she had for parenthood.
“We can only do the best we can to raise them,” she added. “As long as they feel loved and safe.”
