Taylor Swift displayed ‘fan-like pride’ in boyfriend Travis Kelce and signalled her ‘total commitment’ with key gesture – but wanted to ‘avoid upstaging’ the Kansas City Chiefs’ victory, body language expert claims
Taylor Swift displayed ‘fan-like pride’ towards Travis Kelce and signalled her ‘total commitment’ to her boyfriend after the Kansas City Chiefs advanced to the Super Bowl last night, a body language expert has claimed.
The pop sensation, 34, joined her American footballer boyfriend, also 34, on the field at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore after his team beat the Baltimore Ravens 17-10.
The Love Story singer walked onto the pitch with Travis’ parents Donna and Ed Kelce before throwing her arms around the sporting star.
Travis was seen putting a loving arm around Taylor as they walked around the pitch – only breaking away from his girlfriend to greet his brother Jason.
According to body language expert Judi James, Taylor showed a ‘stunning level of maturity and generosity’ in her interactions with Travis, who she has only believed to have been dating for a few months.
Speaking to FEMAIL, Judi said: ‘Taylor Swift’s global A-list status will mean she’s not used to being anything but the centre of attention.
‘When she lays claim on her man her gestures are clingy and affectionate, so that during the moments she has him to herself she signals besotted ownership and fan-like pride.’
At one point, Taylor flung her arms around Travis’ shoulders and gazed lovingly at him. She later went in for a kiss but used a hand to partially cover their faces.
Judi continued: ‘Her rituals include neck-hugging with encircling arms; face-gazing to read his mood and ensure he sees her signals of adoration.’
Highlighting Taylor’s ‘total commitment’ and how she quickly covered their kiss, the expert continued: ‘Coyness and shyness are a common symptom of genuine love, so this aspect of her body language makes her behaviour look more authentic that celebrities who happily and openly stand kissing and cuddling on red carpets.’
As the couple walked around the pitch with their arms around each other, Judi explained: ‘There is some mutual face-gazing which is an important reciprocal gesture from him at a moment of glory and victory.
‘It shows he is as keen to share the moment of elation with her as she was when she ran off stage and threw herself at him after her concert. It implies that however good life gets, in moments of professional glory and ecstasy, it’s their affection for each other that tops it all off.’
However, Judi highlighted how Travis used subtle gestures that he was going to break away from Taylor to greet his brother Jason – which the singer responded to well.
