Travis Kelce ‘is the biggest winner’ from NFL 2024 Draft
Travis Kelce will get even better for the Kansas City Chiefs next season after his team picked Xavier Worthy in Thursday’s NFL Draft, according to former Carolina Panthers star Luke Kuelchy.
The Chiefs selected wide receiver Worthy with their first round pick and his impending arrival has ignited huge excitement among fans in Kansas City after he recorded the fastest ever 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine.
Worthy will partner up with another wide receiver in Marquise Brown next season for what promises to be a blistering speed attack. But the real winner will be Kelce, according to Kuelchy.
Asked on the Up & Adams show how the Chiefs will use Worthy next year, Kuelchy said: ‘You’ve go to imagine they are going to utilize that speed on some deep balls, big overs, some zoom sweeps.
‘I think the biggest winner this offseason with the Chiefs is Travis Kelce. You bring in Marquise Brown, vertical speed down the field, Xavier Worthy, vertical speed down the field.
So now there is going to be all these layers and space for Travis Kelce to run around more than he has been able to and catch these balls so uncontested.
‘These guys are running down the field on overs and crossers and Travis Kelce can just run underneath and catch the ball.
‘So you better believe Andy Reid has something creative up his sleeve now he has got these two speedy vertical guys that can just fly down the field.’
Kelce, 34, is widely accepted as the best tight end to ever play in the NFL and had another magnificent season last year as the Chiefs won their second straight Super Bowl.
He recorded 984 receiving yards and five touchdowns in the regular season before spearheading his team’s surge to Super Bowl glory via the playoffs, where he was cheered on to glory by girlfriend Taylor Swift.
Next season, Kelce and the Chiefs are targeting an unprecedented NFL three-peat.
