Patrick Mahomes named to 2024 Time ‘Most Influential People’ list
Add one more accolade for the Kansas City Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes in 2024.
The three-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback has been named to the 2024 Time 100 “Most Influential People” list, the magazine announced Tuesday. Mahomes will also be featured on one of the covers promoting the list.
During the 20203 season, Mahomes guided the Chiefs to their second consecutive championship and third title in five years when Kansas City topped the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII. The quarterback captured his third Super Bowl MVP award in the process.
When asked by Time about his status within the greatest of all time conversation, Mahomes said he’s “nowhere near” earning a GOAT designation adding: “You have to build a consistency of a career. You see that in any sport. I’ve had a great run. I think I’ve done a great job so far. But it’s hard to take away from what Tom did for so long, what Peyton Manning did, or Aaron Rodgers.
There are so many guys, they were at such a high level for such a long time. In order to be in that conversation, you have to do that on a year-to-year basis. You can’t take it for granted that you did it the year before. That’s something I’ll talk about when I’m done playing. Then people can make those decisions.”
